Dr. Sajal Saha
Dr. Sajal Saha is an esteemed academic professional with over 19 years of experience spanning across the affiliated college and university system. Currently, he holds the positions of Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, as well as Director of Product & Innovation at Adamas University. Prior to this, Dr. Saha served as the Principal of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under Techno India Group, affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal.
Between 2019 and 2021, Dr. Saha was the Dean of the School of Computing Sciences and Dean of Research at Kaziranga University. He also served as the Associate Dean (Compliance) from 2016 to 2019. Dr. Saha earned his Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur in 2016, with a thesis focused on "QoS and Mobility Management in WiMAX and other Next Generation Networks". In 2007, he obtained a Master of Engineering (ME) degree in Information Technology from West Bengal University of Technology, securing second place overall in the order of merit and receiving a silver medallion from the Governor of West Bengal. Additionally, he holds a Master's degree in Computer Application from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics from Calcutta University, Kolkata, India.
Dr. Saha began his career as a Project Trainee in the field of GIS and Remote Sensing at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in 2004. He later joined Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India, where he served in various capacities such as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Assistant Professor for 12 years.
Dr. Saha has been committed to advancing his expertise and contributing to the academic community in the fields of computer science and engineering. His dedication to excellence in research, teaching, and administration has led to numerous accomplishments, including multiple global certifications, published research, innovative teaching approaches, successful event organization, and various academic and administrative responsibilities.
Dr. Saha has earned several global certifications to enhance his expertise and contribute to the academic community. These certifications include IBM Certified Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner, Co-Creator, and Team Essential for AI, AWS Academy Certified Educator, and Dale Carnegie Certified Trainer for High Impact Teaching Skills. These certifications have allowed him to adopt cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in his research and teaching practices, ensuring that his students receive the best possible education.
Dr. Saha's research efforts have been fruitful, resulting in the publication of 47 papers in esteemed international and national journals and conferences, amassing a total citation count of 89 and an h-index of 5. He has also authored two books published by Lap Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany, and successfully completed funded projects worth 30 lakhs from various funding bodies such as AICTE, ASTEC, and Institute Innovation Council.
In his teaching, Dr. Saha has become renowned for his innovative pedagogy, aligning with the principles of Dale Carnegie and the Outcome-Based Education System. He has presented over 30 guest lectures in workshops and seminars and organized numerous national and international academic events. Additionally, he has developed more than 20 strategic innovation models to enhance student engagement, academic performance, and optimize resource utilization at Adamas University.
Organizing academic events has been a crucial part of Dr. Saha's contributions, with successful events such as ICCIA-2011, WoMS 2008, ICCSE2014, ICCIC 2021, NESIDS-2018, and ICCACCS 2014 under his belt. He has coordinated various workshops, summer training programs, and IBM Train the Trainer programs, sharing his knowledge and expertise with fellow academics and students.
Dr. Saha's academic and administrative roles have been diverse, participating in 14 AICTE/UGC sponsored short-term courses and taking on various responsibilities such as Mentor of Change for Atal Innovation Mission, coordinator for IIRS ISRO Outreach Program and NPTEL Local Chapter, and liaison for research collaborations with Emory University and the Asian Institute of Technology. He has facilitated free access to resources, such as Urkund plagiarism software and cloud computing curriculum, and managed administrative issues related to TEQIP, NBA, NAAC, and NIRF assessments.
