Dr. Sajal Saha

Profile

Dr. Sajal Saha is an esteemed academic leader with over 21 years of experience across affiliated colleges and university systems. He currently serves as Professor and Associate Dean, School of Engineering & Technology, and Director—Product & Innovation at Adamas University. He is also the Founding Director of the Center of Excellence in AI at Adamas University, established in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he leads mission-driven initiatives spanning healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, water management, and indigenous language models. He has also introduced innovative teaching–learning pedagogy in Computer Science in collaboration with Oracle Cloud, aligning curricula with industry platforms and practices.

Previously, Dr. Saha was Principal of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (Techno India Group), affiliated with MAKAUT, West Bengal. At Kaziranga University, he served as Dean, School of Computing Sciences and Dean (Research) from 2019–2021, and earlier as Associate Dean (Compliance) from 2016–2019.

Dr. Saha earned his Ph.D. from NIT Durgapur (2016) with a thesis on “QoS and Mobility Management in WiMAX and other Next Generation Networks.” He completed his M.E. in Information Technology from WBUT in 2007, ranking second in the university and receiving a silver medallion from the Governor of West Bengal. He also holds an MCA from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology and a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Calcutta.

He began his career as a Project Trainee in GIS & Remote Sensing at ISRO (2004), then spent 12 years at Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, progressing through roles of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Assistant Professor.

A prolific contributor to research and innovation, Dr. Saha has authored 50 papers in reputed international and national venues and six books with publishers such as Springer and Taylor & Francis. He has successfully executed funded and consultancy projects worth ₹70+ lakhs (AICTE, ASTEC, ICSSR, and the Institute Innovation Council), holds three granted patents, two published patents, and four registered copyrights, and mentored the Smart India Hackathon 2024 winning team.

Renowned for learner-centric pedagogy rooted in Dale Carnegie principles and Outcome-Based Education, he has delivered 60+ invited talks, organized multiple national and international events (including ICCIA-2011, WoMS-2008, ICCSE-2014, ICCIC-2021, NESIDS-2018, ICCACCS-2014, and ICDMAI-2025), and designed 20+ strategic innovation models to boost student engagement, academic outcomes, and resource optimization at Adamas University.

His professional certifications include IBM Certified Enterprise Design Thinking (Practitioner, Co-Creator, Team Essentials for AI), AWS Academy Certified Educator, and Dale Carnegie Certified Trainer (High Impact Teaching Skills). He has also taken on wide-ranging academic and administrative responsibilities: Mentor of Change (Atal Innovation Mission), coordinator for IIRS-ISRO Outreach and NPTEL Local Chapter, liaison for collaborations with Emory University and the Asian Institute of Technology, and facilitator of institutional processes involving TEQIP, NBA, NAAC, and NIRF.
